The Infinity ECU for manual transmission equipped 2003-05 Mitsubishi Evo VIII racing engines (Infinity-6 PN 30-7106 and Infinity-8h PN 30-7108) includes an engine-specific start-up calibration and connects to the engine via a Plug & Play harness that is sold separately (PN 30-3511). Begin by determining which Infinity ECU will best support the ancillary components in your manual transmission 4G63 engine using the Infinity Specifications Chart in the "Specs" tab.
Once you have determined which Infinity ECU will best support your 2003-05 Mitsubishi Evo VIII M/T engine, you will need to purchase the Evo VIII Plug & Play adapter harness (PN 30-3511). AEM’s Plug & Play harness for Mitsubishi Evo VIII engines includes a Wideband O2 connector, AEMnet connector for communication with other AEMnet enabled devices and an auxiliary connector with a Deutsch DTM 12P connector for adding common aftermarket sensors including fuel pressure, air inlet temperature, MAP, oil temperature and ethanol content sensor. The expansion port also includes a sensor ground, 5v reference, 12v power from relay and high side output for activating a relay or solenoid, a low side output for boost control and analog inputs for mode switch and no-lift shift.
The Infinity EMS delivers high-end engine control for the racing masses at a fraction of the cost. The Infinity-6 and -8h for Mitsubishi Evo VIII race engines is even more affordable than its larger -8 and -10 version because it is designed for smaller racing engines using low impedance injectors up to 6 cylinders or race engines driving up to 8 high impedance injectors. It features a smaller footprint than the Infinity-8/-10 (5.855” x 5.55” x 1.8”) and a single, weatherproof 80-pin connector.
The Infinity-6/8h include all of the advanced features found in the Infinity-8/10/12 including the latest generation 200 MHz automotive processor that can process 400 MIPS. Airflow model-based (VE) tuning eliminates lookup of many correction tables needed in previous generation ECUs. Flex-fuel and multi-fuel capability, on-board wideband air/fuel control, map switching and knock control are included. Engine protection strategies include coolant temp, oil temp, AFR vs. MAP, intake air temp, knock and fuel pressure. Programmable drive-by-wire, variable cam timing, boost control, nitrous control and traction control are included. Data logging up to 64 GB via a removable USB drive is standard with logging rates up to 1 KHz per channel. The Infinity-6/8h is able to communicate with 3rd party dashes and loggers and is AEMnet enabled. All maps can be password protected. Its sealed enclosure and IP67-rated communications ports are suitable for engine bay mounting.
