Description
This new GTX Series Garrett Turbocharger falls in between the GTX2867R and the GTX3071R. It utilizes the 49.70mm Compressor wheel that is found on the GTX2867R, and the 67.40mm Turbine wheel that is found on the GT/GTX 30R's. This combination makes it a great turbocharger for people looking to make up to 500HP.
This GTX3067R is also paired with Tial's Stainless Steel 0.82 A/R V-Band In / V-Band Out Turbine Housing. The Tial housings are 33% lighter when compared to iron housings, it's overal physical size is smaller than standard housing options, allowing it to fit in tight engine bays.
Garrett's ball bearing cartridge has proven its worth in the highest level of motorsports where it has been the bearing system of choice in CART FEDEX ChampCar Series, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, World Rally Championship, and most recently Drag Racing. These premier racing customers demand no less than the best in durability, reliability, and power on demand. One key contributor to this performance lies in the ball bearing cartridge where it is, by design, surrounded by a thin film of oil. The oil film damps out destructive vibrations that would otherwise compromise turbo durability.
Fully-Machined 10-Blade compressor wheel. Dual Ball bearing oil & water cooled CHRA. Ported compressor shroud to increase surge resistance. Interchangeable w/ GT2860RS & GTX28R models on compressor & GT/GTX30R models on turbine.
Tial Housing Specifications:
Lightweight stainless steel turbine housings for the GT/X 30 series turbochargers. Compatible with the 60mm 84 trim turbine wheel. Note: these housings will not work with the 700177-23 GT3071R CHRA, the heat shield is different, you must use the 700177-22 CHRA
