CP Turbo Ring Set, 1.2mm Top Ring, 1.2mm 2nd Ring, 2.0mm Oil Ring, 86.5mm bore, PVD

PVD Turbo ring sets feature a thicker 1.2mm steel top ring for increased durability and resistance to flutter. The face of the ring is PVD coated - a technology that is harder and much smoother than traditional gas nitride, providing increased endurance, and less friction against the cylinder wall. The 2.0mm oil ring is light, but supplies adequate tension for oil control. Since the oil ring is smaller than most other oil rings, it allows for more material to be used on your piston ring lands and increases piston strength. These rings come standard with our Sport Compact HD shelf pistons, and can be supplied with any custom CP piston.

BC crankshafts are made from the finest aerospace grade 4340 steel billet material. CNC machined on state of the art, 5 axis Mazak Integrex 300-IV CNC machines to exacting tolerances (.0001"). Every crankshaft features large radius journals that add rigidity for high horsepower, high boost, high rpm applications. Gun drilled, CNC ground oil holes feature a smooth surface for extra oiling, tear dropped for added oil scoop, cross drilled for priority main feeding to the rods and micro polished to a mirror finish for optimum bearing lubricity. All cranks are stress relieved, shot peened, magna flux inspected and nitrided (multi step heat treatment) for ultimate performance. Fully profiled counterweights are designed for reduced windage through the crankcase creating less oil resistance for better rpm potential.

Aluminum Connecting Rods offer the benefit of absorbing vibration and load that may cause a steel rod to bend or break. While they are sometimes lighter than steel rods, the real benefit comes from the increase in abuse they can handle over a steel rod.

The downside to an aluminum rod is that the steel rod will live longer, however the aluminum rod will usually live as long as the aluminum piston is attached to, so if the engine has to come apart to replace pistons, you will replace rods at the same time when using an aluminum rod.

These rods use a smaller rod journal that is specifically designed to be used with a crank that uses a smaller journal as well. The smaller journal means you can use a smaller bearing, which means less bearing speed. Slowing the bearing speed down gives the engine a better chance at living longer. So make sure when buying these rods, that you will be using a crank that has honda journals instead of standard toyota journals.
